The emerald green rice fields of Kuttanad, also known as the rice bowl of Kerala, are just as picturesque and exotic as any other area of the state. When visiting this picturesque location, be prepared to see a variety of waterfowl and otters swimming alongside the houseboat. The village has few roads because it is nourished by four rivers.
Location: This vibrant village in the Alappuzha district’s backwaters is just 135 km from Trivandrum International Airport. It is the only place in the world where farming is done below sea level, and paddy fields are surrounded by earthen bunds similar to the Dutch dikes.

Visit the Kanakakunnu Ancient Palace

Activities: The park now has a marine aquarium as well as a separate area for crocodiles, peacocks, jungle cats, porcupines, jackals, and several bird species. Previously, it only had snakes as exhibits.

Visit the Kollam Jatayu Nature Park
The recently opened Jataayu National Park, which is situated in Chadayamangalam Village and was first made accessible to the public in January of last year, is fashioned after a rock theme park. Located on 65 acres of land, the museum and theatre will be surrounded by a sizable stone sculpture of the fabled bird Jatayu. The enormous, 200-foot-long sculpture of the majestic bird, about which legend has it that it was killed by the demon king Ravana, is said to have fallen on that spot.

Kuravan Kurathi Statue in Ramakkalmedu
Ramakkalmedu, which is a small hill station in the Keralan state of Idukki, is referred to as a place where Lord Rama has stepped foot in the literal sense of the word.
