UAE: A new market opens on a mountain side with Karak tea, fresh mangoes, and more

The fruit, plant, and carpet shops at Shees Rest Area opened in time for the winter season in the United Arab Emirates.

Now you can enjoy a boiled corn on the cob or a cup of karak tea while seeing the untamed Hajar mountains in all their splendor. Shees Rest Area opened right before the UAE’s winter season, nestled in the shadow of the mountains.

The weekend marked the official opening of the rest area, which is just a short distance from Shees Park, an artificial waterfall park, by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council.

Khor Fakkan was one of many locations that saw intense rainfall; therefore, there was a chill in the air. It has fifty-eight stores with fresh produce, houseplants, carpets, fragrances, camping supplies, and dining establishments.

The popular Dh1 potted flowers are sold in the plant stores, and people were spotted purchasing boxes upon boxes of the vibrant greens.

Products with colourful patterns and detailed designs are arranged on loor-to-ceiling  holders in carpet stores.

Next were wholesale-priced fruits and vegetables cultivated in the United Arab Emirates. For Dh90, we were able to purchase boxes containing mangoes, oranges, papayas, guavas, apples, and watermelons.

The stores also sell corn on the cob for Dh5 and packs of fresh fruits cut into bite-sized pieces for Dh10.

Purchasing a cup of karak tea for Dh1 made enjoying a hot beverage reasonably priced. We also discovered a store that offered camping supplies.
