We will pick you up from Cochin Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station and drive to Munnar, which is a 4-hour journey. Along the way, you’ll get to enjoy waterfalls and picturesque natural spots. Upon reaching Munnar, you will check into the hotel and have the rest of the day to unwind. Your overnight stay at the hotel will be arranged by us.
After breakfast, we will dedicate the day to exploring local attractions. Munnar, situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundale – stands at an elevation of 1600 meters above sea level. This majestic hill station once served as the British government’s summer retreat in South India. Our local sightseeing tour of Munnar will include visits to the Rose Garden, Photo Point, Honey Tree, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundale Lake. In the afternoon, we’ll proceed to Rajamalai, where you can catch a glimpse of the rare Nilgiri Tahrs, a unique mountain goat species. You will spend the night at your accommodation in Munnar.
After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and begin a 4-hour drive to Thekkady. Upon reaching Thekkady, we will check in to the hotel and then embark on a sightseeing tour. Thekkady is renowned as one of the world’s most captivating wildlife reserves. The Periyar wildlife sanctuary covers an area of 777 sq km, with 360 sq km being dense evergreen forest. Known for its unique geomorphology, rich wildlife diversity, and stunning landscapes, the sanctuary was designated as a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Optional activities like boating at Periyar Lake, visiting a spice plantation, and enjoying an elephant ride can be arranged at an additional cost. Your overnight stay is organized in Thekkady.
Following breakfast, we will depart from the hotel and head towards Alleppey. Prepare for a delightful experience as you embark on an overnight backwater cruise aboard charmingly adorned houseboats. The check-in time is 01:00 PM, and the cruise will commence with lunch. As you sail, take in the serene views of lush paddy fields, local communities, traditional houses, historic churches/temples, and the gentle sway of coconut groves. Meals will be provided on board. Your overnight accommodation will be on the houseboat.
Once you’ve had breakfast and checked out from the houseboat, we’ll proceed to drive you to either Cochin Airport or the railway station, depending on your departure location. This will be in time for your flight or train journey back home. You’ll leave with a sense of fulfillment after enjoying a marvelous vacation in the enchanting destination of God’s Own Country.
