Day 1: Arrive in London

Upon arrival in London, a representative will meet you and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for your own leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel. 

Day 2: BEST OF LONDON, INCLUDING TOWER OF LONDON, CHANGING OF THE GUARD, WITH A CREAM TEA OR LONDON EYE UPGRADE

A full-day city tour of London lets you experience the best that England’s capital has to offer after breakfast. A guided tour of St. Paul’s Cathedral is followed by a photo stop at Westminster Abbey. Have lunch on your own and take in the must-see Changing of the Guard ceremony in front of Buckingham Palace. The Tower of London is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A sightseeing cruise down the Thames is a fitting way to end the trip. Upgrade to a London Eye flight or a cream tea at the Harrods restaurant if you want to see even more.

DAY 5: LOCH NESS AND THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS DAY TOUR FROM EDINBURGH

The infamous “Massacre of Glencoe” in 1692 took place at the Glencoe Visitor Centre in the Glencoe National Nature Reserve, also known as the Glen of Weeping. On the main route through the valley, there are several viewing points for The Glen, and the National Trust for Scotland has a visitor centre nearby.

The tour will start its return trip south after our stop at Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. Before stopping in charming Pitlochry, a delightful Victorian resort town, you will pass by Loch Laggan, the location for the critically acclaimed “Monarch of the Glen.”

We stop for lunch in the Fort William vicinity after crossing Loch Leven at Ballachulish, then continue along the Caledonian Canal’s route up the Great Glen to Fort Augustus on Loch Ness. Here, we can take a short cruise on the loch or stroll through the serene little community that lines Loch Ness’ banks. Please be aware that, depending on the weather during the winter, this portion of the tour may need to be modified.

DAY 7: OBAN, GLENCOE, AND WEST HIGHLAND CASTLES FROM GLASGOW

Experience the West Highlands’ stunning natural beauty, including its lochs, picturesque mountains, and historic castles, during breakfast at the hotel. Visit the eerie Glencoe, the

location of the MacDonald Clan massacre, and the charming fishing village of Oban, the entrance to the Isles. Inveraray is located on the shores of Loch Fyne.

Visit Inveraray Castle, the historic residence of the Duke of Argyll, leader of the Clan Campbell, which is tucked away in expansive gardens with a view of Loch Fyne. Alternately, wander through the town’s broad streets, white-washed Georgian homes, and breath-taking loch views.

Visitor hours at Inveraray Castle are from Thursday through Monday, from April 1 to October 31. Kilchurn Castle is nearby. The next castle we pass is Kilchurn Castle, one of Scotland’s most popular subjects for photographs. It is perched on the shores of Loch Awe and exquisitely framed by mountains. -Place of Stop: Oban With free time to explore its horseshoe bay and see McCaig’s Folly, an iconic 19th-century tower resembling the Colosseum in Rome, we then stop for lunch in the charming harbour town of Oban, the “Gateway to the Isles.” Duration: 1 hour, 15 minutes

After some free time for exploration, we continue on by passing the 15th-century Castle Stalker, which is located on a tiny island in Loch Laich. Place of Stop: Glencoe Mountain

One of Scotland’s most eerie glens is Glencoe, where the MacDonald clan was massacred in 1692. Approximately 15 minutes. Arrive at Luss Pier. Before heading back to Glasgow, where your tour of Oban will come to an end, we can take a stroll along the shore or just admire the charming conservation village of Luss on the “Bonnie, Bonnie Banks” of Loch Lomond. time period: 30 minutes Return and remain at the Glasgow hotel.

 

DAY 8: DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the hotel, check out, and fly back home after a memorable trip
