Itinerary

Day 1: EVENING BOSPHORUS CRUISE WITH DINNER & FOLKLORIC SHOW

Upon your arrival in Istanbul, a local representative extends a warm greeting, guiding you with a welcoming smile to your hotel. As the sun dips beneath the horizon, an enchanting escapade awaits – an evening Bosphorus Cruise, a favoured indulgence for those seeking the essence of Istanbul’s allure.

The journey commences with a gentle transfer to the boat’s departure point, the anticipation of the night’s adventure hanging in the air. A gracious welcome drink extends a warm embrace, inaugurating an evening that blends Turkish flavours, tradition, and spectacle. As the cruise unfurls its path along the Bosphorus Strait, you behold the luminous facades of Dolmabahce Palace, Ortakoy Mosque, Rumeli Fortress, Maiden’s Tower, and the Bosphorus Bridge – architectural emblems of a history woven between continents.

A feast awaits, a medley of Turkish gastronomy. Appetisers, main courses, and desserts flow forth; each bite a taste of this land’s rich tapestry. Sips of libations, both spirited and temperate, are available to complement the fare. The specifics of the package may vary, a detail worth verifying.

Yet, the night is more than nourishment for the palate. It is a celebration of culture, an immersion into the very pulse of Turkey’s essence. The folkloric show that unfolds, a symphony of traditional dances, the undulating poetry of belly dance, and the harmonies of live music, become a portal into the soul of the nation. The tales woven through movement and rhythm span generations, echoing through the night.

With a touch of serendipity, a dance may call to your heart, beckoning your participation, making the memories more intimate and the experience more personal. As the evening’s crescendo draws near, the boat retraces its path, returning you to where the journey began. Transferred back to the haven of your hotel, you lay down, the echoes of the night’s adventure reverberating in your thoughts. A single evening has encapsulated Istanbul’s history, its vibrancy, its unity of continents, and its tales written in light on the waters of the Bosphorus. And as you drift into slumber, you know this memory will remain, a luminous treasure for the years ahead.

DAY 02: EMBARKING ON THE BURSA CABLE CAR EXPEDITION WITH LUNCH

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, fortifying yourself for the exciting journey ahead. The Bursa tour unfolds as a full-day odyssey, commencing with a serene ferry ride across the Izmit Gulf. Inhale the invigorating sea breeze and feast your eyes on picturesque vistas that unfold around you.

From there, the adventure continues, bringing you to Yalova City, where an optional safari tour promises a thrilling escapade for the daring-hearted. But the true gems of the day lie in Bursa, awaiting your discovery.

First stop – the Turkish delights factory. Here, indulge your senses as you sample and perhaps acquire traditional Turkish sweets, a confectionery legacy that beckons from the past. Then, a visit to the venerable Inkaya tree, a sentinel of over six and a half centuries, was revered as a living testament to the passage of time.

An intriguing highlight follows – a sojourn to a natural bee house perched upon the mountain. Observe the intricate dance of bees, masters of their domain, and immerse yourself in the art of beekeeping, a craft woven into Turkey’s narrative.

Lunchtime arrives atop the mountain, a culinary interlude that caters to both carnivores and devotees of plant-based fare. The sizzle of a mixed grill entices meat lovers, while an array of vegetarian options offers a symphony of flavours.

And then, to the majestic Uludağ mountain ski centre, a European haven for skiers and seekers of alpine beauty. The summit unfolds before you, a testament to nature’s grandeur, accessible via a cable car ride that promises panoramic views.

But the tale does not end here. In the tapestry of Bursa’s history, you’ll visit the venerable Green Mosque and Green Tomb, sites that resonate with echoes of antiquity. The Silk House and an ancient Turkish Bath add to the tableau, narrating a narrative of a city steeped in cultural richness.

As twilight approaches, a symphony of experiences crescendos, a testament to the day’s eclectic offerings. The Bursa tour unfurls its array of activities, painting a vivid canvas for the traveller’s gaze. It is, indeed, the quintessential day sojourn for those captivated by the allure of Turkey. And as the day comes to a close, you’ll spend the night at your hotel in Istanbul.

(Remember, if traffic gets heavy, the agency might take a detour and use the Osmangazi Bridge instead of the ferry.)

DAY 03: EXPLORING OTTOMAN & BYZANTINE HISTORY WITH LUNCH

Kick-start your day with a satisfying breakfast at the hotel. Today’s expedition commences with a voyage to the Sultanahmet district, the ancient core of the city imbued with rich historical significance.

We’ll whisk you away to the Hagia Sophia, an immense structure that has transformed from a Christian church to a mosque and even a museum, now returning to its mosque identity. Guided by our expert, we’ll delve into captivating narratives that unveil the stories behind this architectural masterpiece.

Continuing our journey, we’ll leisurely traverse the grounds of the Hippodrome of Constantinople, where an extraordinary obelisk comes into view, enticing your gaze. Soon, we’ll arrive at the striking Blue Mosque. Be sure to capture both its interior and exterior beauty in your photos.

Next, we’ll make our way to the Grand Bazaar, a vibrant and sprawling haven where a trove of treasures, from clothing and decor to delectable food, eagerly beckons. En route, your eyes will catch glimpses of other cherished historical landmarks, such as the resting place of Sultan Ahmet I, the graceful Firuz Aga Mosque, and the outward facade of the venerable Tomb of Mehmed II.

Once our visit to the Grand Bazaar concludes, we’ll pause for a delightful lunch to recharge for the afternoon ahead.

Our upcoming stop takes us to Topkapi Palace, a magnificent abode that embraced Ottoman sultans for almost four centuries. While meandering through its corridors, a captivating insight into the regal existence of those who graced this palace will unfold before you.

With the sun gracefully setting, you’ll be escorted back to the welcoming embrace of your hotel, your heart brimming with cherished recollections from a day immersed in the rich histories of the Ottoman and Byzantine realms.

Important Reminders:

DAY 04: JOURNEY TO CAPPADOCIA

Rise and shine to a hearty breakfast at the hotel, and as the day unfolds, it’s time for a new adventure. After checking out, you’ll be transferred to either the Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) for your flight to Cappadocia.

Upon your arrival in Cappadocia, you’ll journey to your designated hotel. Following check-in, the rest of the day opens up for you to relish at your own rhythm. Seize this chance to leisurely discover the vicinity, unwind, or bask in the captivating ambience.

A pause in Avanos takes us to the heart of terracotta art, a tradition that traces back to 3000 BC. Witness the craftsmanship at a ceramic and tile centre, where you’ll see the intricate process of crafting ceramics by hand.

Following a delectable lunch, our journey advances to the illustrious Goreme Open Air Museum, a haven that harbours some of the most splendid instances of Cappadocian icons. The supple rocks of the vicinity have been skillfully shaped into stables, churches, and monasteries, fashioning a landscape that takes one’s breath away.

A visit to a carpet weaving co-operation unveils the artistry behind Turkish carpets crafted by hand. Then, we’ll indulge in the beauty of Goreme Valley from the vantage point near the Uchisar Rock Castle.

Our voyage through history reaches its apex with an exploration of the Kaymakli Underground City. This time-honoured marvel harkens back to the era of the Hittites and subsequently found purpose among early Christians.
