Charyn Canyon and Kolsay Lake

After breakfast, depart from Almaty and travel east toward the magnificent Charyn Canyon, often referred to as the “Grand
Canyon of Central Asia.”

Discover the breathtaking Valley of Castles, where centuries of wind and natural erosion have shaped dramatic red rock
formations into remarkable natural sculptures. Enjoy a scenic walk through the canyon and capture memorable
photographs amidst the stunning landscapes.

After exploring Charyn Canyon, continue the journey to the picturesque Kolsay Lake, located in the foothills of the majestic
Tian Shan Mountains. Take a leisurely walk along the lakeshore, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and relax in the peaceful

In the evening, drive back to Almaty.

Almaty Cultural & Historical Tour

After the morning activities, drive to Green Bazaar, one of the oldest and most iconic marketplaces in Almaty, with over
100 years of history. Established in 1875, the bazaar has long been an important trading hub. Guests will have some free
time to explore and shop for local produce, spices, and souvenirs.
Next, visit the Rakhat Chocolate Shop, home to Kazakhstan’s largest confectionery manufacturer. Rakhat produces
chocolates and sweets following traditional Soviet recipes and GOST standards, offering a delicious taste of local
craftsmanship.
Continue to the old part of Almaty, starting with the Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, dedicated to heroes who defended
Moscow during World War II. The park is a popular attraction featuring historical monuments and Soviet-era architecture.
Within the park, visit the Ascension Cathedral, a stunning wooden Orthodox cathedral built in 1907. Remarkably, the
cathedral survived the 1911 earthquake with minimal damage, despite being constructed entirely without nails, making it a
true architectural marvel.
