What is a Schengen Tourist Visa?

The Schengen Tourist Visa is a travel document that allows travelers to enter and travel within the Schengen area, a group of European countries that have abolished passports and other types of border control at their mutual borders.

The Schengen area includes 26 European countries, including popular tourist destinations such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. With a Schengen Tourist Visa, travellers can visit any or all of these countries for tourism or other non-business-related purposes for up to 90 days within 180 days.

It’s important to note that obtaining a Schengen Tourist Visa requires meeting specific requirements, such as providing proof of sufficient funds, having a travel itinerary, and having adequate health insurance coverage. Additionally, the specific requirements and application process can vary depending on the country you are applying from and the country or countries you plan to visit.

What is a digital Schengen visa?

The European Parliament has recently announced that they have adopted a new strategy to make the Schengen visa application process much smoother, i.e., by digitalising it. Now, tourists from outside the Schengen zone, including UAE residents, need not have to stand in long queues and go through complicated formalities to get their visa process done. Instead, everything will be available online, and you can get your visa after a few clicks.
