Discover Beirut! The day will begin with a visit to Beirut, the capital of Lebanon and its largest city, which has been keeping a close watch on the Mediterranean for centuries and is bordered by the famed mountain chain of the nation. Beirut, which has been destroyed and rebuilt seven times throughout history, is home to more than two million people. You’ll experience the local culture on this tour by taking long strolls along the bustling seaside Cornice, taking in the incredible views of Pigeon Rock-Raouche, and exploring the recently renovated downtown alleys.
Once the tour is done, you will head to the National Museum, which was built in 1930 and has a remarkable collection of ancient artefacts that spans roughly 60 centuries of human history. Spend the rest of the night at a hotel in Beirut.
After breakfast at the hotel, spend the entire day in Beirut exploring these incredible attractions: Baalbeck, one of the oldest Roman sites and museums in the Middle East, nestled in the middle of the lush Bekaa Valley; Anjar, Lebanon’s sole Omayad ruins; and Ksara, one of Lebanon’s most prominent vineyards. Following breakfast, you have the rest of the day free to do as you please at the hotel. However, you can choose to take a tour to a location of outstanding natural beauty and then see the legendary writer and poet Gibran Khalil Gibran’s museum while passing by the ancient cedar trees that are Lebanon’s national symbol. After lunch, take a beautiful drive to Kozhaya’s St. Anthony the Great Monastery from the 12th century and stop by the cave of St. Anthony, which is known for performing miracles.
