Detailed Travel Itinerary of Our UAE National Day Special Baku Azerbaijan Holiday Package

Day 01: Arrive in Baku – Baku City Tour (Guaranteed Early Check in)

We’re glad you’re here in Baku! When you arrive, a friendly member of our staff will welcome you and arrange for a transfer to the hotel. Get ready to start an interesting journey of Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, after checking in and getting ready.

Our first stop will be the iconic Flame Towers Baku, one of the most famous landmarks in the city. Composed of three magnificent buildings, the Towers are adorned with LED screens that showcase various captivating visual displays in motion. The spectacle of lights is visible from all corners of the city, especially during the enchanting evening hours.

Next, we will stroll along the Alley of Martyrs, a place of great significance that is often visited by foreign dignitaries during their protocol visits. From here, we will be treated to a panoramic view of the city and its beautiful bay from Baku’s Highland Park, also known as Upland Park. This vantage point offers breathtaking vistas, making it the highest point in Baku.

As we continue our city tour, we will pass by the Baku Boulevard, where you can catch a glimpse of the magnificent International Mugham Center. This cultural institution was established to promote Azerbaijani ‘mugham,’ a traditional folk musical composition, to the world. The center is architecturally designed to resemble the national musical instrument, the ‘tar.’ Along the boulevard, you will also spot the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, an architectural marvel designed by Austrian architect Franz Janz, bearing the appearance of a gracefully rolled carpet.

Visit Baku’s treasure, one of the little towns on the water, and stroll among the aesthetically pleasing stone bridges known as Little Venice. Its gondolas go along canals full of pure, still water, and it features two major islands in addition to several smaller ones. Enter Icherisheher (Inner City), sometimes referred to as a “Fortress” or “Old City,” as you cross the street. This distinctive historical and architectural preservation region is located in Baku’s downtown.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and contains numerous historical landmarks, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and the Maiden Tower. Explore the narrow streets, ancient mosques, and charming courtyards that offer a glimpse into Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage. This is one of the country’s oldest ancient sites, and archaeological investigations have unearthed Bronze Age burial vaults. The two most well-known historical sites in the Old City are Maiden Tower (12th century) and the Palace of Shirvanshahs (13th–16th century). In addition to these, there are several more remarkable structures, including mosques, minarets, the ruins of the caravanserais “Multani” and “Bukhara,” historic baths, etc.

Finally, we will explore the charming pedestrian Nizami Street, once a bustling trading zone and now an avenue lined with an array of shops and boutiques, perfect for indulging in some shopping and cultural experiences.

After an enriching and eventful day, we will head back to the hotel for a restful overnight stay in Baku, anticipating more adventures to come.

Day 02: Gabala Tour + Cable Car

After a delightful breakfast at the hotel, get ready to explore the captivating beauty and historical significance of Gabala, one of Azerbaijan’s most picturesque provinces with a rich and ancient history.

Gabala holds a remarkable heritage, having served as the capital of Caucasian Albania, an ancient state that thrived in the region for over 600 years. As we journey towards Gabala, you will be enchanted by the enchanting landscapes that include the renowned Russian forest, scenic river valleys, the famous Chestnut forest, and charming villages.

Our first stop will be at an authentic bucket bazaar, a unique experience where fruits and vegetables are measured and sold by the bucket, adding a touch of tradition to your journey.

Next, we’ll visit the breathtaking Nohur Lake, offering a fabulous location with spectacular views of the majestic Caucasus Mountains. This picturesque setting provides a perfect opportunity to capture unforgettable moments through photographs.

Later, we’ll spend some time at the Tufandag Winter-Summer Tourism Complex, a versatile destination offering winter skiing adventures and summer cable car rides to the mountains, allowing you to appreciate the stunning landscapes all year round. The complex also hosts various entertainment options, including mountain climbing on ATV quad bikes, mountain biking, and horse riding, promising a memorable experience for every visitor.

For those seeking extra excitement, the Gabala Shooting Club in the village of Bum presents an optional opportunity to improve your aim amidst the beauty of the natural surroundings. This world-class shooting facility serves both as a recreational and entertainment center, catering to your interests and ensuring an enjoyable time.

After a day filled with exploration and memorable experiences, we’ll return to Baku for a relaxing overnight stay, cherishing the memories of the scenic wonders of Gabala.

Day 3: Full Day Guba and Shahdag Tour

Fuel up with a hearty breakfast at the hotel as we embark on a captivating full-day tour to Guba, a favored tourist destination renowned for its lush forests and breathtaking Caucasus Mountains.

Guba holds a special place in the hearts of visitors for its reputation as a hub of carpet weaving and its abundant apple orchards. Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Qudiyalchay River, the town of Guba offers a picturesque setting for our explorations.

Our journey will take us to several significant historical sites within and around Guba city. One such gem is the Juma (Friday) Mosque, an ancient mosque constructed from red bricks in 1802. With its cylinder-shaped structure and regular octagon form, characteristic of Guba’s mosques, this mosque conceals an unexpectedly spacious interior.

We will also visit the Sakina-Khanum Mosque, built in 1850 by the wife of Abbasgulu Agha Bakikhanov in honor of her husband, a renowned historian and writer who played a pivotal role in shaping Azerbaijani literature.

In the Agbil settlement of Guba, we’ll encounter three medieval mausoleums from the 16th century. While two of them boast traditional rectangular structures, the third showcases an elegant octagonal design, adding a touch of architectural diversity to our tour.

Of course, no Guba tour would be complete without a visit to a Carpet Weaving Factory! Here, you’ll witness the intricate craftsmanship behind Guba carpets, known for their nature-inspired designs, geometric patterns, and vibrant color palette. The dedicated artisans aim to preserve the ancient art of carpet weaving and pass on their skills and knowledge to future generations. After the factory visit, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs and authentic carpets from a local carpet shop.

We’ll enjoy a delightful lunch in the enchanting Gachresh forest at a national authentic restaurant with a large terrace offering astonishing views of the mountains and forest. Savor the delicious eco-friendly fare, featuring fresh farm vegetables, succulent lamb and chicken kebabs, complemented by a selection of local homemade jams that are sure to delight your taste buds.

The first ski resort in Azerbaijan is called Shahdag Mountain Resort Complex. It is situated on the grounds of Shahdag National Park, which is renowned for having an intact biological system and unspoiled flora and fauna, in the Qusar area in the northeastern corner of the country, in the Greater Caucasus range of Azerbaijan. Any time of year is a great opportunity to visit this site. Visit during the winter months for cosy resorts, skiing, and snowboarding, and during the summer months for mountain biking, hiking, and other activities. Do you want to have a memorable time? Try the newest activity in the lineup, the Shahdag Coaster. It is a 2590-metre course with 920 metres of ascending lanes and 1670 metres of descending lanes. The sledge’s top speed is 42 km/h, and the track has nine severe twists. Activities including off-road and quad tours, mountain Segways, bob carts, trottinettes, zip lines, mountain bikes, children’s quads, adventure parks, horseback riding, shooting, water slides, and more are available during the summer.

Guba’s beautiful Caucasus Mountains and shaded forests make it a popular tourist destination. The village of Guba, known for its carpets and apples, is located atop a cliff with a view of the Qudiyalchay River. You can eat lunch in the national authentic restaurant in the lovely shaded Gachresh forest. It has a large terrace with an amazing view of the mountains and forest, and serves delicious eco-food, including fresh farm vegetables, lamb and chicken kebabs, a tea set, and a variety of locally made jams that you have probably never tried before! The route will then continue into the highlands above the Qudiyalchay River, leading to the Mestdergah Waterfall, where you may take in the breathtaking scenery and pure mountain air.

After an enriching day exploring the wonders of Guba, we’ll return to Baku, where you can enjoy a restful overnight stay.

Day 4: Absheron Peninsular Tour and Departure!

Breakfast at the hotel.

Check out and see the world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid’s Heydar Aliyev Centre (without going inside). It is an expansive and breathtakingly spectacular display of flowing architecture from the twenty-first century, with abstract waves and peaks that appear to melt into one another. The true joy is in contemplating and capturing the remarkable exterior from constantly shifting perspectives. Stop at the well-known “I love Baku” sign so you can snap some pictures.

Our next destination is the Ateshgah Fire Temple in the Surakhani village, which has drawn large groups of adventure seekers for years. Constructed during the 17th and 18th centuries, the location was based on naturally occurring flames that were revered by Zoroastrians. Up until the 1880s, fire-loving Hindus used this site as a major pilgrimage centre. It now contains a beautifully constructed outdoor museum. Visitors can explore the temple grounds and learn about its historical significance, making it a must-see attraction in Baku. The Ateshgah Fire Temple offers a unique glimpse into the cultural and religious practices of past civilisations, adding depth to your travel experience.

The State Historical, Cultural, and Natural Reserve Yanardag, also known as ‘Burning Mountain’, is the last destination on our ‘fiery tour’. It is a complex constructed around a hill at the top of a natural gas pocket that continuously erupts in flames. It’s quite likely that Yanardag has been experiencing fire for more than 20,000 years. Visitors are still enthralled by these natural fires, which Marco Polo first mentioned in his descriptions in the thirteenth century. The reserve offers a mesmerising display of flames that have been burning for centuries, making it a must-see attraction for history and nature enthusiasts alike. The mystical ambiance created by the eternal flames at Yanardag provides a unique opportunity to connect with the ancient traditions and beliefs of the region.
